WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

What if you could sense the emotional current of a room before a word is spoken? The ways we connect with each other in real time move well beyond the verbal and intellectual, living in the space between words—in body language, micro-expressions, tone, rhythm, shifts in breath, and pacing. These are subtle but perceivable energies that arise and dissolve wherever people gather. Most of us sense fragments of these signals without conscious realization. When left unnoticed and unattended, these cues can create misunderstandings or prevent us from fully stepping into the flow of a moment.

In this workshop, we’ll practice interpersonal attunement and improvisation, learning to pay attention to the nuanced communication signals constantly influencing relationship, authenticity, and possibility. By becoming more fluent in these subtle languages, we develop greater emotional precision—an embodied awareness of self and other that transforms how we lead, facilitate, connect, and collaborate. We’ll learn to sense when a moment wants to shift, when a person or a group needs a pause, when an audience or team is leaning in or pulling away. We’ll hone an ability to listen more deeply, expand empathically, respond intuitively, and co-create enlivening and fruitful experiences in facilitation, leadership, presentation, teaming, and everyday life.

This is powerful, lasting work—a life practice that extends well beyond our professional lives—aligning us with the potent and living currents of human connection.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this workshop, you will have practiced:

  • Bravery in self-awareness—the capacity to notice how your own internal state colors what you perceive in others, and the courage to stay steady and present rather than being pulled into doubt, irritation, or self-judgment.

  • Stillness in nonverbal connection—an attuned presence that allows you to sense energy and unspoken stories in the room, building trust, intimacy, and authentic connection beyond words.

  • Expanded understanding of co-creation—the ability to step beyond leader/follower patterns and invite collaboration that arises from shared presence, reciprocity, intra- and interpersonal flow.

  • Rooted flexibility—a grounded responsiveness that listens for the emergent “shared voice” of a group, adapting moment by moment without defaulting to control or over-direction.
